Where does all the heat go?

I was musing upon such subject on the M23 tonight as I wennededed my way home, boxer engine thrumming happily and yet putting out a lot of heat.
I put my hand down behind the oil cooler (if you a have a GS you'll know what I mean) and there was a lot of heat coming from there too.
Now then, the Uk has what, 30million cars? (hell of a lot anyway) and they all put out loads of heat, all year round.
But that heat has to go somewhere into something...I'm wondering if exhaust emissions aren't something of a red herring with regard to global warming....I'm wondering if engine heat isn't actually a major factor?

Interesting article but I have always struggled with the rising sea level idea because the ice use up more area when ice than when they become water so the net effect is only caused by the ice that is out of the water.
Try it yourself with a glass of water, it wont overflow when it melts.
So, to try and bring it back to topic, you should drink cold drinks whilst riding your BM
Glad someone has posted a topic like this, because have always wondered about the where abouts, with regards to all the hot air my wife produces (talks-to clarify(not exclusive mind)). It starts by going in one of my ears and straight out the other - but what happens then?????

Heat doesnt stay as heat. Its only hot while whatever it is, is still unstable on its molecular level. In air, once its left the engine block or radiator or brakes, there's nothing to keep it hot above the level of whatever the sun's radiation can heat it to that day, so the molecules become more stable, and it cools down to whatever the ambient air temp is.
Thats what I think. But Ive been wrong before...

- producing a load of hot air since 1978My understanding is the relatively intense heat radiated from the engine is conducted basically to the atmosphere. Its then radiated out into space or as the article above states, keep inside the atmosphere due to greenhouse gasses and contaminants.

On the subject of sea level rise - most of the ice on the planet is not 'floating' in the sea already, it is above sea level in (mostly) Antartica and Greenland. So, when this melts seas rise - and theres shirtloads in Antartica, km's thick
