That is, guess who`s got his new VY Z06....o.k it`s me!
Just have 800 miles on the clock now after 2 weeks. I think this colour is the fastest, ask Aston Martin! Seriously, if you have any thoughts on getting one, just do it!
First trip was 500 miles back from the dealer (euro car) at 30 mpg keeping 70- 80 mph in sixth gear, with average mpg running at 18.2 over the last 200 miles, going a little faster......
Having thoughts on power mods already. Amazing how quickly you get used to things. Seen posted before how these Z06`s mask the speed so well, you think your doing 70 but it`s 100. Got`a watch that heads up real close!

Nice one... but I guess you didn't read the bit in the manual about avoiding constant speeds while running it in...?

Did you manage to get rid of the VR Z?

Did vary the speed on the way back, shall we say on several occations, including laying some rubber out of a service station slip road by accident! Think the girls giving away free drinks were impressed ,I know I was!
Car came direct from the main importers for the whole of europe. No more Z06`s available until next year. The buying process was not easy.
Only got this car from them, because could not find a VY one for sensible $$$ in the US. Bonus with the warrantee, but not a deciding factor for me, only time.
Buying from the US, with my contacts is a million times easier! To say this car came from 500 miles away, it was major agro all the way, including getting it towed away from outside the licencing office, parking as per directed by the sales agent. I was so pleased!
Sold the VR one some time ago, straight sale. Loads wanted it, but p.x`s that I did`nt want.
Pictures on the way.
Just had the windows tinted and waiting for the stone chip protection. The kit that my installer had been given was for a C6, not a Z06- big difference. It`s the precut one I want, any contacts?

Congratulations Dean!

You're right about speed being masked by the smoothness, 180mph is a doddle and doesn't feel much more than 100....

Only 800 miles in 2 weeks? You obviously don't like the car very much

Hi Dean,

I keep researching the best ways to increase the Z06 performance. The concensus seems to be a new air intake, headers, cam and a tune. Anyone got any thoughts on this? More importantly who to trust to do the work? Any suggestions?

One guy stateside has upped the performance by also reducing the weight. List below..

Fiske Profile Rims (-20lbs)
Red Devil Brake Kit (-33lbs)
Carbon Fiber Hood (-101bs)
Sparco Evo Seats (-45lbs)

Well tuned coil-overs
Headers
Cam
Tune
