What are these braided hoses and where do they go?

Following my recent troubles with the "Big Fuse", I had to remove the battery cover.
I have 2 small metal braided hoses each about a foot long that come from the back of the engine towards the alternator area. 1 attaches to a 90 degree elbow fixing on the drivers side wing under the battery cover. The other is losely cable tied to the first but goes nowhere??

Anybody know what the hoses do, and why is 1 unconnected?

I think they're for the clutch, one carries the fluid, the one 'going nowhere' is for bleeding.

I thought the same but on mine a 4.2 they are on the other side just under the windscreen.

the un connected one is clutch bleed,the one with 90degree elbow is the oil pressure pipe to the guage on the dash board
