I took the Chim out for a 50 mile blast yesterday evening, when teh clutch started to behave in an unusual manner I 'm not sure if this is a common problem:
The clutch biting point started to get reaklly low, it didn't slip but the biting point would reduce almost sto the floor then recover then get lower again.

Sound familiar? fluids all up to level - possibly ambient temperature - anyone esle come across this?

check fluid level 1st,its amazing how often this is neglected if you have small amount of leakage it will get to the point where you will take/in air if its low top up an bleed but you will need to find loss soon, failing that take note of previous post.good luck.

I had a situation where on one occasion, the clutch failed to completely disengage (biting point REALLY low) but then immediately return to normal. My local found no leaks anywhere, but replaced the clutch fluid anyways.

edited to add: I've had no problems since then.

if the fluid is your problem, the cause is normally that although the brake fluid is changed apx every 2 years, clutch fluid tends to get neglected until theres a fault like yours or a component needs renewal, this isnt just on chims ive often seen this on various makes of cars with so called F.S.H AND DEALER HISTORY,with inconsistant clutch action due to this condition.
