Hmmm. Overcooked it in the bend heading towards Darlo, span, crossed the central reservation and almost got away with damaged wheels only... but, hit the astra at about 10 mph and totaled the front.

Very very very lucky. No one hurt but theres a huge dent in my ego.

Ego's can be repaired (slowly ) - major body parts often cannot, glad you got out unscathed.

I'd been to Croft at the track day on Wednesday so I was a bit too full of myself. Didn't know where the police questioning was going when they asked "do you think the track day made you over confident?". I replied with "I was over confident in my cars ability to go round the corner".

Not sure whether they were implying that track days are a bad thing or not! Anyway, the traffic cops were very fair and I can't fault their attitude.

Amazing how the woman in the astra got out and quite happily chatted away till someone from her family turned up. Then it was neck pains, don't move, etc. etc. etc. Its going to annoy me if we get into all the "claims direct" style litigation when I offered immediately both my car insurance and medical insurance should she have any injuries.

Still, Tesco.com seem to be handling it all pretty well so I'll wait and see.

One of the problems with having a bright silver/ green TVR with sports exhausts is that EVERYONE knows I have it, therefore EVERYONE will know when its not there. The ego is going to take some severe battering over the next week I can see it now. I think I deserve a good kicking for being such a dick so I suppose its all good for the soul.

Don't be so hard on yourself mate, you made an error, it happens, the car can be fixed all other parties were ok. Sounds like you weren't going too fast anyway otherwise the impact speed would have been far higher.. driving is a constant learning curve as I was once advised

Sorry to hear of the accident. Hope you're okay and aren't without the Tiv for too long.

For crying out loud get over the ego thing. You are OK, other drivers involved are OK. No lasting damage done.
