6000 mile service Midlands, Best Place?
Discussion
My chim needs a 54,000 mile service and will have to book it in soon. The car has previously been looked after by Tower View but I put it into TVR Power a couple of months and 3000 miles ago for some work, new clutch, geometry, fluid change, rolling road, re-chip etc. Top blokes there and I live nearby but the labour charge is a little high.
Was thinking of booking it in to Autotune to save £180 instead. Anybody had a service there before?
Is there anywhere else in the midlands people can recommend? There's David Gerald I know but a similar price to TVR Power and further away for me.

Perhaps a bit out of your way but you could go to Ian Lambert at www.torquervt.co.uk in Middlewich. He has many customers that travel a lot further than the Midlands and you won't be disappointed.

I'll add a vote for AutoTune. Always found Mervyn very helpful.
Will call Horizon for a quote but it's the wrong side of Birmingham for me, Torque TVR is too far away for me really as well as my Tiv is my daily driver so it's looking like Autotune and £180 saved to go towards some new dampers. Mervyn has a courtesy car as well.
TVR servicing costs really bug me as it's not a complicated car so it really shouldn't cost this much. I guess you could argue that due to the nature of the car there's a lot to check, does this explain the 6.5 hours labour for each service? However friends with Boxsters, Z4s and even a Ferrari 355 all pay less for their servicing...

Then go to Horizon....
hugerr
Horizon like i said before and everyone else, i took my car there for a tune up they set the mixtures did some fault finding and found the fault
overall in there about an hour and a half cost £40.00 inc vat
, Then they said they would order the part i needed only a vacume advance, and pay when i next bring it in
never been there before and they didnt know me from Adam, you wont do better than that so worth the extra drive i would say.

Serviced and nitrons fitted, 2 visits, prices excellent. Also had new alternator fitted during service, got car home approx 25 miles away & alternator started playing up. Phoned Mike, he arranged to pickup car on low loader free of charge.
Can't fault service or prices!!

You can drop your car off at 1am if you have too at Torque, Ian also has cars available for you to use in the meantime.
If you want to wait, please bring a sleeping bag, some dinner, although there is a chinese and a chippy near by (expressos are part of the service to keep you and Ian awake) and warm clothes (its gone cold again at the garage). You may also want to let your better half know you may be gone for some time and they don't need to put in a missing persons report
Wine Gums are also appreciated
