NOT!!!

Mate, his misses and their kid took my son to Hazlemere rec tonight for a play in the playground. All went well until loony on large offroad motorcyle turned up shouting abuse and racing his bike up and down playing field at very high speed.. Several calls made but no plod showed. Kids scared, it took two adults to shield them away from the danger.

Where were the bloody plod, possibly sipping tea in the scamera van somewhere I shouldn't doubt..

Another nail in the coffin Tony, bloody well done..

In all due respect... but......

Not really an urgent matter for the BiB is it really ?

Nobody has been killed, robbed, or raped.

And they know damn well that when they turn up the biker will be gone.

It's just not worth calling plod for this sort of thing in my experience.

Agree its not A1 priority but the thing is, they've been trying to catch these people on off road bikes for ages (and its just a couple, not loads of bikers), there are some woods nearby which run past the bottom of our house and many others (Kingswood) and they're up and down there lots at weekends - plod are supposed to be trying to identify these people.

I assume there were a group of yoofs together so not advisable to pick up a nice stick and whack the rider?

Before anyone goes on about there being nowhere to ride there is a special offroad bike circuit about 4 miles away.

For this sort of thing you will need to do the hard work for yourself

You need to be able to identify the rider, and log times of when this is happening.

If their is a common pattern then BiB may take a look but don't hold your breath.

Was anyone racially abused or were terrorist threats made within 1km of parliament?

What did you expect Richard?!

BiB are given their targets from above, and someone riding up and down a field is not included!

Bloke on bike was very agressive and shouting abuse at kids in the PG, I wasn't there but 6ft + Prison Officer mate was, I believe him when he says the bloke was scarey (bloodshot eyes and all). Bloke on bike (which mate said was 500cc or thereabouts) was in suit and believe he was after a lad and gf who were near the playground. Bike was being riden at very high speed around the large "playing" field, there were a number of kids in tears. A number of calls were made (may have been non 999 I don't know) before a risk was taken to get the kids through the nearby hedge..

Not critising BiB directly hence Tony comment.. But If somebody had set about this tw@t with a pick axe handle you can bet your arse the BiB would have turned up or perharps if I had driven at 36 mph to get there to rescue my 7yo son..

Lack of funding, too much paperwork, wrong orders from home office, something is going badly wrong in this ry and today, for me it has clicked down one level nearer the gutter..

Why should my 7yo son be scared shitless and what sort of impression does he have of the Police tonight?

I think the CSO's are supposed to be dealing with this unsociable type behaviour.

BiB have targets to meet, and as it's near end of the month, they will only be interested in real criminals and easy prosecutions like speeders and closing time drunks.

It makes the end of month spreadsheet, and powerpoint slides with pie charts look great with all those successful prosecutions. Everyone has to be accountable in any job these days.

I have never seen targets for speeding detections/prosecutions in any Policing priority plans or divisional objectives.

What's that you say - crazed man riding a bike suspiciously on a playground full of children??

I'd be reporting that as a suspected paedophile about to kidnap a child.

BiB would be on scene in under 30 seconds.

Thames Valley Police.

I have also been told directly by our ex Chief Constable that targets affect Policing priorities.

I was waiting for that response... South Wales police must be heaven for paedos! I wonder how many people got hit with speeding offences on the same day while they failed to respond to the kidnap of that child. In fact, police only caught the man 'cos he was noticed jumping a red light.
