is this a legal speed limit?
Discussion
a road we frequent each morning on the way to work used to have 40 MPH repeaters every 500 Yds or so, all of a sudden I notice there are no repeaters for at least a Mile anymore, BTW it has no streetlamps and is not a built up area, so just what would the speed limit be in Law, any ideas?

I take it that there has been no change in the original 40 limit?
So on the mile stretch the absence of repeaters could indicate to an inattentive driver that NSL applies, which a reason that law requires repeater signs.
Whilst the distances for the repeaters is not exactly defined by Statute, guidance is given by Dof T to Local Authorities as to distances apart and 1 mile is totally out.
It would therefore appear that the absence of repeaters opens the argument that the limit is incorrectly signed and therefore unenforceable and would require a judgement from the Bench.

Probably not enforceable.
