Hi there,

Had a great day out at the Silverstone Classic meeting today. Loads of great cars both on the track and in the paddock area. Superb demonstration by Prodrive of the Aston Martin DBR9, they were practising pit stops and the DBR9 was running on the national straight.

DBR9 - shortly after finishing a doughnut

DBR9 - driven by David Brabham

DBR9 - high speed pass

Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-12

Jaguar XJR-9

Nissan NTP1 GTP

OSCA MT4 - driven by Stirling Moss

Aston Martin DBR1

Jaguar D Type

I took approx 370 pictures today so have lots to upload. These are some of my favourites.

Hope you enjoy them.

Regards

Tim

Very nice indeed Tim. Big PH round of applause I'm working on my shots now, i'll post some up later.

It's a shame the DBR9 didn't make it into the "pursuit" race though.

DBR1 is heavenly! And Peter Hardman pedals them as they should be driven too. The Nissan is driven by a PHer, 'Randy' - Chris Randall.

I'm going up to Silverstone tomorrow and it looks like I'm going to get wet...

Oh, nice pics BTW. Look forward to seeing the rest.

Simon,

Nice to see you out in the Prosport again. The car looked completely at home in the Group C/GTP race. Must have been great fun racing against the Jaguars.

Thanks for the pics. Shame I couldn't make it but fitting my Wilwood's in time for the 'Ring had to be a priority!

Although windier today I think the weather is going to hold out for you all.

Went to the Classic on Sunday, what a superb meeting with such an eclectic mix of cars and some really spirited driving it made a really great day.

Highlights for me had to be the ERA of Mac Hulbert (shame it only completed a few laps) and the saloon race was brilliant in particular Dan Cox in the Cortina with his lurid oversteer antics!

Just a shame it took me nigh on 3 hours to get home after being stuck in the roadworks on the M1! Bearing in mind it only took me an hour and a bit to get there in the morning!

Oh and Trackside, if I'd have known you were there we could've met up!

If you wandered down to Stowe and Club you could have a grandstand to yourself practically. Shame the circuit had decided not to put any catering (or more specifically beer) down there. Brilliant couple of days though, including that bit where you get two cars and one goes past the other one without it going into the pits. Can't remember what it's called but it's ever such fun to watch. I reckon if they introduced it in F1 it could be quite popular.

What a cracking weekend. Finished 3rd in the first race and 2nd in the second, even after a pit stop to clear the coolant from Justin's engine off my windscreen (blew up just in front of me).

Some wonderful cars on display both on and off the track.

FWIW, I used a Nikon D70 with a 80-400 VR zoom lens for the pics I took at Silverstone, two of which are in the news story.

I was lucky enough to be helping with two Orwell Supercup cars and a classic F1 car which meant I was surrounded by Group C F1 and CanAm cars so I got lots of pics from the pit lane you can see them on the link below

Randy I was in the pit lane when you pulled in just in front of us for pit stop. Made my day absolutely superb.
