Really?...well that's contrary to what the media say about Ralf - and Michael seems to pick and choose who he is rude to...

"RACE DRIVER IN HAPPY TO HAVE WON SCHOCKER.
Fans today called for the immediate shooting of the sausage eating box head after he willfully showed joy and joked with his team mate during the post race disco and prize giving after winning his home GP and finally getting his World Championship campaign back on track. A Paddock insider confirmed that he is German and disliked by many less successful people including drivers and supporters of other teams. An Italian was quoted as saying "I no reeely care. A lees he win din ee."

I think Italians couldn't care less if he chatted and laughed or wiped his arse on the podium during their national anthem as long as there are reds up there.

Sorry, perhaps I should have spelt it out - the media I am referring to are the guys that speak to these drivers on a very frequent basis at times when they may not necessarily be at their most amenable. I didn't mean that I deduce this from Stan Piecha's column in the back of The Sun on the Monday after a race (God bless old Stan though
). I will mail someone that I am aware works for Toyota F1 about Ralf though and give you his thoughts though - be good to have more than one opinion from a Toyota F1 person

today I watched him generally chatting an laughing with his team mate durning the Italian National Anthem
Is it me or is this just simply rude and disrespectful. Not the first time I have seen him doing this.

I suppose it could be interpreted as disrespect but it doesn't bother me, nor would it if he was talking during the British national anthem. How people treat other individuals is far more important to me.

True, and I actually felt a bit sorry for Kimi on the podium, as Michael and Felipe completely ignored him during the champagne spraying - only Martinelli (I think?) seemed to congratulate him. Just team-mates being team-mates, do you think, or some sort of posturing regarding who drives what next year?
As an Italian I didn't really care about him talking through our anthem, considering he did it through his as well. Most of us were just happy to see him up there stuffing Renault (cue insults in my direction...) again. Recently Italians have had plenty to celebrate about and we get to hear our anthem every time the tv shows highlights of the world cup (its getting a bit boring now) so if Schuey talks its okay. There was some scandal a few years ago when a politican said it was rude for him to pretend to conduct an orchestra while our anthem was on but the general consensus was that it was a tempest in a teacup. What does p**s us off is silly racist generalisations though (cough, rustybin, cough).

No offence intended to Italians, old men, Germans, Journalists or the over sensitive British at whom the humour (which is what it was meant to be) was directed. But thank you for confirming my assumption / generalisation that you're not bothered what happens during the anthem as at least they are playing yours.
