My wedge is now very lopsided on the front of the car. The drivers side must be at least 3/4inches lower than the passenger side. I've also measured the chassis and this is lower on the drivers side to. I've just had the front springs replaced so it wasn't that. Any ideas what else to try?

Check the spring lengths firt in cae one was no heat treated properly or is just a different length. Then check for cracks or old chssis repairs, worn bushes etc. Missing rubbers between the chassis and body, whilst only normally 8 to 10mm can produce 25mm or more of mis-alignment at the wheelarches. Relly a proces of checking everything side to side looking for an error.

That doesn't sound right. Do you mean 3/4 of an inch or 3 to 4 inches?. And are you actually measuring from a point on the chassis on level ground, or from a point on the body? Bodies can settle quite a bit in use - the rubber packing between the body and chassis get worn (or falls out), or the production tolerances might mean that the body wasn't perfectly symetrical to start with. Was it level before the change of springs?

It's 3 to 4 inches lower. It was exactly the same before the springs were changed and I have measured points of the chassis on either side and the drivers side is a bit lower.

What about giving the factory a call - may be they can help?

Have you got height adjustable shocks at the rear and are your rear springs matched? A difference in height at the rear can diagonally throw the front out.

Lose a few pounds? This happens to me but only when I sit in it I need to lose a couple of stone though.

Seriously, I'm convinced mine is wonky but I have 5hit eyesight.

The ride height at the rear is exactly the same either side. If you look on my profile there is a picture of my wedge in a car park. You can see how much it leans by comparing it to the car I'm parked next too. It's at least 3 inches lower on the drivers side at the front now and I think it's getting worse but that's probably because I look at it straight away now

If you click anywhere in the black picture with the red cross it takes you to my webshots page. Not sure why the Pistonheads site displays it as a black box with a red square. It's the last picture 006 I think.

Check out my lopsided pics on http://community.webshots.com/user/bo

Click on the 'wedge stuff' photo/heading to view. I've also put some pics of the drivers and passenger wheel arch so that you can see the difference. On the drivers arch you can see some marks on the arch. This is where the previous owner thought the solution would be to pull up the side of the car as hard as you can. The result was slight damage to the fibreglass. Wot a kn*b!

I think the key to finding the cause is knowing if the chassis really is the same height both sides. You say that it is in your previous posts but to within what tolerence and where did you measure it? If it is the same then the problem can only be something to do with the way the body sits on the chassis. The body is only say on bits of rubber and I suspect these perish over time. It may be these need renewing. It would also account for it happening on the drivers side as I suspect Wedges spend a fair amount of time with no passenger.

Surely you don't mean the chassis is 3 to 4 inches lower on one side than the other! The only way I can imagine it being that far out is from a broken spring or broken chassis or other catastrophic failure of that sort. Make sure you really are measuring from the steel chassis to the ground when the car is parked on a flat level surface. If it is that bad then see whether the spring lengths are the same from side to side (i.e. the distance between the upper and lower spring seats), this will tell you whether the difference is in the suspension or the chassis.
