Who else loves 80s pop and new wave !?

I am 17 soon to be 18 and I love 80s pop and new wave. Music from the 1980s is awesome!!
My friends think I'm totally wierd cos im not into rap and stuff. I HATE rap.
I'm a big fan of Living in a Box, The Human League, ABC, Bros, Spandau Ballet, Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, New Order, Eurythmics, Phil Collins, Depeche Mode, and so many more!!!
Anyway, do any of you people like 80s pop? what bands do you (or did you) like? what songs did you like?

I like all that kind of music aswell.
I did a 5 hour 80's show on a local RSL station, playing loads of unusual 80's stuff, like Bourgeous Tagg, Fiction Factory, The Lover Speaks & Goodbye Mr Mackenzie.
One guy on the station plays loads of unknown 80's pop rock music and he played some New Muzik,I quite like "This World of Water" very early 80's.
Shame we are only allowed to broadcast once a year for 28 days.

Believe me, if you'd been there then, it was as crap to a lot of us as this modern crap is to a lot of you... and nearly all of us (oldies that is 
)
In fact just the other day my girlfriend dragged out the very first ever 'NOW that's what I call shite' album and we gave it a spin on the old turntable (once I'd blown the dust off and made a new belt from a length of catgut).
Sure enough it was all as bad as I remember it.
Apart from Tracey Ullman...mmmm.

I like the Vice City soundtrack.
I have nearly all the Now(number) albums, I am only missing 2,5,8 and 9.
Some of the stuff is crap, but there are some great tracks from the 80's around, you tend to only hear the popular, predictable stuff on radio now, none of the more interesting tracks.

It does not matter what decade you prefer your music from, more it is the music that you like.
Some people enjoy the music they are told to enjoy, this mainly affects junior members of society who’s likes and dislikes are based on a combination of things but are influenced greatly, I believe, by peer pressure and advertising, few pre-teens understand "music" as an intelligent adult might, but they live and grow and learn (We hope).
This has become more prevalent from the 80's onwards, although manufactured bands existed before this, but the market has become, I think, more commercially aware in this time.
I believe the simple fact is this - if you enjoy it, listen to it, if you don't then don’t listen to it. There is nothing in trying to point out the errors in someone’s ways because of the music they listen to, they will ignore you, so let it be. Listen to what you like, and feel slightly smug because you listen to the good stuff.

I remember the Spands when they were 'True'
New Romantics ie tartan kilts etc. Before they signed a big deal and went all popular. The Dooleys! Blue Rondo ala Turk!

)All decades produced their fair share of both good and bad pop music. I was a teenager in the 70s, a decade which produced the best of Bowie, Queen, etc but also produced Mud, Showaddywaddy and The Osmonds. The best that can be said of Mud and Showaddywaddy was that they introduced me to 50s music ie people like Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochrane, Elvis Presley etc. Having said that, the 50s wasn't perfect either - there was lots of tosh produced back then too.
