Just a quickie. I been rummaging and found an old undeveloped film (stored in a metal container) and has probably been there for at least ten years. Is it worth getting developed or would it have ‘gone off’?

Was it stored in a cold/cool place?

Always worth having a look.

My local Tesco would process it and scan to CD (no prints) for 97p - bet yours would as well. Not a lot to lose if there is nothing worth seeing.

Mind you, you might want to be fairly sure that the content is not going to fall foul of any PC initiatives.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but Tescos will take an undeveloped film and burn it to disk for a pound? really?

Second point. Yeah im slighly worried about that one. You got to think, why would i 'hide' a film away and not get it developed?

Eh I'd give it a shot. It's only probably about $4, I'd try it.

Amazing but true. Used to be £1.98 for a CD and they would do that without demanding you had some prints (but I often get an index sheet gratis anyway).

Then the computer was updated with new prices. Prices per print, especially larger sizes, went up and processing came down. That was in Feb. sometime iirc.

Not had any films processed for about a month now but it was 97p last time out. Have some to take in from a shot on Saturday so will find out in the next day or so if the price has changed but I'm not expecting any difference.

Actually it is better than that 'cos you can get severl films scanned on to one CD at my local Tesco. Have had 11 to do a couple of times and they all fit onto one CD - at 97p, processed and scanned, for the lot!

And even if the film is starting to go bad, I'm sure it will leave some interesting effects.

Blimey, thats cheap, What format and resolution do they scan at? Might be easier than spending hours scanning my photos with my film scanner.....
