Rebodied Enzo set to stun
Ferrari P4/5 to star at concours next month
Next month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California, looks set to star a stunning-looking rebodied Enzo.
The car, owned by James Glickenhaus, has received a thorough make-over by Ferrari long-term design partner Pininfarina and renamed the Ferrari P4/5 in tribute to 1967's classic Ferrari 330 P3/4 GT sports racer.
Every body panel is new as is most of the interior -- and it's been wind tunnel tested. And despite the Ferrari factory having little to do with this creation, it has agreed that this one-off can be called a Ferrari and wear the prancing horse badge.
Can there be any doubt this smoothly rounded car looks so much better than the functional but angular Enzo?

I quite like those exhausts... Each to his own, I suppose...
I like this way more than the original, which to my mind was all 'look at us, we make F1 cars'. This has a much more integrated shape, and reminds me of some of the past great Ferraris, with hints of 512 BB about the front and 250 GTO about the rear haunches..
The wheels do absolutely nothing for it, though, looking far to chunky and heavy. (IMHO!)
Odd rear lights as well...

absolutely wonderful and vastly superior to the Enzo.
(i think the "not very Ferrari-like" comment was fair ... the side profile is much simpler than most Ferraris ... nose, front wheel arches, windscreen, etc all the way to the rear spoiler is pretty much a single curve, which is much more typical of modern Lambos than of Ferraris. These guys have taken the best of both and built what has to be one of the very best looking supercars to date.)

..and I'm in favour. Massive improvement on original Enzo. Definite reminders of past Ferrari Sports prototypes. Exhausts don't bother me (are they ceramic or just white heat treated?) Got reservations about rear "screen" even though an early Marcos/Miura or something had similar treatment. I wonder was the shape pure Pininfarina design or did Mr Glickenhaus (Mr Lucky?) have an input? Well done to you if you did JG.
