My ''94 Chimp has the type of rear number plate that is lit from the back, so using normal number plates isn''t an option. Is a TVR dealer the best place to get these made up for you? Has anyone not bothered to use a special translucent one and been stopped by the police at night?

Don't forget that all number plates now need to contain the name and postcode of the regsitered plate manufacturer since 01/09 so your dealer's the best place to start.......

I got mine from my dealer free of charge, it still doesn't let the light thro very well tho, are these translucent ones any better?

I just used the word translucent to get across whay I was on about, I don't think you can do any better than getting made up by your dealer. It was nice of them to do it for free, I bet mine won't do that... I'll give mine a ring, I wish I'd never bothered getting a private plate. I didn't realise it was going to be such a pain in the arse. I had to stick the front one on with double sided sticky strip things. It lasted about 2 weeks, luckily it just fell off in the street parked up so when I got back to the car it was just lying there. So I'm presently driving round with no front plate (I've bought some thicker sticky strip stuff today, hope that works) and a rear plate that no bugger can see in the dark

I've used double-sided carpet tape with complete success. -Manek-
