Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for the steering rack on my car. I've been told that a Vauxhall Corsa one is quite choice for kits n scratch builds, but open to any offers/suggestions!

I bought a new corsa one for my original project and have decided not to use it now that I am not building the Nemesis.

after investigation I beleived it was the best power steering option as it allows the use of any rack you decide to use (read 'that fits') and overall is lighter as the whole power unit is in the column.

thanks Andy - what are you using in your GTT, and why did you decide against the Corsa unit for that?

I'm using a corsa 'C' electric column in my Phantom GTR, should be up to the job for a mid-engined car with minimal front axle weight, only thing I'm missing is info on how to connect up the speed sensor pulse and what input it wants for the variable assist levels..

Kind of interested in this....could somebody post the rough overall dimensions of the column/PAS chunk please? How much of the Corsa column is needed? (could the PAS element be easily removed and grafted to an existing column is what I think I'm asking).

I'll see if I can post a pic of mine... you will need the complete assembly including the ECU that runs it....

The main reason I decided to use this system on that car was that I could remove it retrospectivelly if I found the car was too light or vague with it.

My new car will not need power steering due to the geometry despite the large 255 tyres on the front.
