Summit racing delivery times?

Having scared myself with the price from Real Steel for a new dizzy (£304! but they do have one in stock), I might order from Summit ($297.88 or £220 inc. VAT/Duty/Shipping).

Any idea how long their international deliveries usually take to arrive?

In theory, the current dizzy should be under warranty. The question is, whether I can get it in time for the open day this weekend.

Can you not just buy the module. Bet the same one fits lots of dizzy models.

Buy one off a builder and then replace. I am sure the factory will help with this as they sold it to you in the first place ( I think)

we built our whole dragster using summit and jegs and cant rate them highly enough. if its in stock youll have it in about 4 days so long as you choose the right shipping option. i have in the past ordered stuff on a monday and had it in my hands by weds afternoon

summit do offer an express service which doesn't cost a lot more than the normal airmail, the quickest that I have received an urgent package is 3 days. I think they give a superb delivery service

All items showing 'ship today' but will be tight if I'm going to make the open day....

Summit usually have excellent delivery times and when they don't they tell you how long it's going to be. I find that even for quite small order it works out cheaper and definitely more pleasant than dealing with UK suppliers. Sad but true.

If it's in stock then they usually manage to get it to me within a week USPS/Parcelforce or a lot less for bigger orders which usually come DHL.

I would of paid the £300 from real-steal(!) - because if it turns up late, faulty or damaged your'e stuffed. I think you may get stung on shipping - tends to be about $80. I usually just change the $ for £ and you wont be far out. Having said all of that, Ive ordered stuff from jegs on a sunday night and it turned up wednesday - whereas ive waited longer from real-steal(ers) before.

If you have (or anyone else) has an old or broken chevy dizzy kicking around for cheap or free - then let me know as I need to make a dizzy blanking plug from one.

For fuel injection types who have gone to EDIS . Need something to fill the distributer hole and keep the oil pump drive in place.

If that's the case, I still have the option of buying the one from Real Steel anyway

Besides, I also needed a K&N flow top and filter element - neither of which Real Steel could supply.

Are you tracking shipment on courier website. Often shipment go on a european tour care of various hub centres.

I've always got a list of items that I want from Summit. Trouble is it never gets big enuff to justify the effort and handling charge. I'm sure that ther must be others in the UK in the same spot.

Is there anybody who would be interested in combining orders and splitting the shipping/handling charges?

Bks......Just put in an order yesterday.

Well, there's a lesson learnt.

After chasing the order for 2 days, they only shipped today. It took 4 days to 'review the print' for international orders. What a crock.

Needless to say, it's very unlikely that I'll see the parts tomorrow - so no open day for me
