Why is it that i get wheel tramp even though i have Powerflex bushes, Protech shocks, new wheel bearings (as part of a change to five studs and bigger brakes) and the geo set up recently.
I pulled out of a junction that was a bit wet this morning and gave it a little bit more throttle than i realy should have done just to step the back end out for a bit of fun. But i got lots of wheel tramp resulting in the whole back end shaking about, not nice at all.
Anybody experianced the same or got any ideas why this happens?

Is your diff attached to anything in particular or just hanging loose?
Powerflex bushes, fitted at the same time as the suspension.

Including the top one that if I recall requires the diff to be dropped to replace?
Yep, Trackcar replaced them all for me before reseting the geo. I believe he has developed a 'special' method to change them in situ.
Is this the "remove body to gain access" method that I used?
It isn't unknown for the diff mounting plates to snap, I know Marc Hockin's Griff racer snapped several (I think 3) last year, I was told this last November which meant I had time to strengthen the ones on my Chimaera and havent had any problems so far, touching every wooden object in sight!

Was that tramping while pulling away round a corner? That's unusual. It's quite easy to provoke wheel hop on the S, but one thing that more or less banishes it is pulling away on a slight curve; it only tramps in a dead straight line. Try not to let it keep tramping as it's extremely hard on the transmission and suspension. If it happens again just feather the clutch slightly - not enough to disengage it fully, but just enough to take out the 'snatch' from the transmission. This will kill the tramp instantly.

Peter,
Just pulling out of a junction, turning left so fairly tight, i just expected it to spin the rear wheels and drift up the road (no traffic in sight, just having a bit of sideways fun, or so i thought).
I just backed of the throttle until it stopped and then pulled away normally.
I will try feathering the clutch but i didn't expect to have to that kind of thing with a well located suspension setup, no sloppyness anywhere as far as i know. (new engine mounts recently too).
