Hi all, Just wondered if anyone has found a decent solution to preventing a Chim starter motor from overheating. I had a new one fitted when the problem first occurred and it has only happened a couple of times since but it can be kinda embarassing the ol'' girl won''t start up after sitting in traffic for 10 mins. I met some mechanic who reckoned he could build a heat shield for it, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had the same problem fixed another way? Cheers Ben

Try agriemach.co.uk - they do heat wrap specifically for starter motors. I have not had the need for it, but I have used their Thermoshield tape to replace my exhaust heat shields. Helpful staff and efficient mail order service.
