I've just been to have a look at a 1999 C5 soft top in Leeds. Very nice too.
But.
From the looks of the rear of the folding roof mechanism (where it meets the bodywork) I'm not too confident about it's being watertight if left outside in a good downpour.
Would I be right, or worried for no reason?
cheers.

I know Rich is knocking on a bit, but I don't think he gets any leakage problems (yet). Nor his car...

Chris - My soft top does not leak (yet) and that includes aiming the hose directly at the seal when washing it.

The mechanism is so tight that the first time I put the hood up I got my hand caught between the deck and the hood - the sort of thing you only do once as it is quite painful.

Perhaps this could be the test - trap your hand and see how long before your eyes water.....

P.S. try to avoid inuendo on this forum - it's not good for the others to get over excited as they clamour to take the pi**.

Sorry Rich, I meant no connection to your forum name, honest.
And it's nice to hear that you don't have any problems in that "area"
