Could someone who owns a current production ultima in the USA please address how the procedure for registration and licensing went in terms of ease or difficulty and cost. Thanks Mark S

Unlike legalizing and registering non EPA and DOT compliant manufactured cars in the US, registering kit cars here is relatively easy, especially when compared to doing the same in Europe.

That being said, the process has its nuances, of course. More importantly, the rules, regulations, and procedures vary considerably state to state. According to your profile, you're in California. What you actually need is a reply from a California Ultima owner, not just any US owner will do.

In Illinois you need an inspection by the secretary of state for lights, turnsignals, etc. I'll find out in a couple months.
