Hi Guys
I want to buy a new Cayman, would love the S but new standard car is at least £8K cheaper and that is still pushing my pocket.

Can anybody recommend alternate source of supply to try and get a saving or Uk dealers who might be more willing to discount than my Reading based chums

Thanks in advance
Yours hopefully

Buy a Boxster S instead, middle ground between Cayman & Cayman S, soft top for sunny days & still a great drivers car!

middle ground only in price; performance and engine are identical to Cayman S

Cayman 245bhp £36k
Boxster S 295bhp £39k
Cayman S 295bhp £43k

you must really hate convertibles to not find the extra £3k for the Boxster S IMHO, especially as it has a higher spec than the base Cayman which reduces that differential

For the amount you will save not really worth it also your reading based friends wont be so pleased to see you if there's a problem.
If for nothing else its quite a special feeling buying new from opc especially the day you get your hands on it.
If you speck the big wheels which I'd have to you'll have an s in all but performance anyway.

If it were me, then I'd go for the Standard Boxster. If the Cayman is pushing his budget, then surely the Boxster would be a better bet?

I bought my first Boxster from them, I didn't really have a problem with them and as a result I spoke again with them a couple of weeks ago when looking for a car.

There cars are pretty much list price and the deal they would do for me whilst good was not as good as the deal I got at my local OPC.

I did go in to buy a Cayman, but came out with a Boxster instead. I just couldn't justify the extra cost and I concluded that in the handling stakes I probably wouldn't really benefit from the extra expense.
