Anybody done any retrimming of carpet

Im about to start on replacing the carpet,starting with the boot as its(was) falling apart.

I've removed all the old carpet and kept as a pattern.

So has anybody got any tips for a diy job

use contact adhesive in a spray can, so easy and clean to use

Did mine from the footwell rearwards. Make sure whatever you cut with is sharp, you can get carpet blades for stanley knives and they are very good, ensure the fibreglass is dustfree,dry and degreased. Try not to use an impact adhesive as once contact is made it`s a sod to get off if the carpet isn`t in the correct position, also it can be very smelly and will leave a horrible smell in your car for a couple of days. Whilst the carpet is out, it`s a good time to check any wiring that you can see, basically that`s it, hope this helps.
