Whenever I have a discussion about 360s (or any FCar for that matter), the subject of whether it is detrimental to future trade values if you modify it too much.
Let's face it, most 360s have been modified in some way, with sports exhausts etc.
What is the general concensus?
Here is one of my favourites. Hamann modded.

I personally never do anything that I can't retro fix for sell it.

I've still got a set of 19" wheels in the garage from the 360 and I'll either sell them, or they'll go on a future car. It's dead money as soon as you spend it anyway, so why give it away with the car...

my 2p's worth.

I have a feeling that there's a company in Japan that do an MR2 bodykit for the Fezza!

That Hamann kit isn't that bad partly because it hardly counts as a kit. It's just the Halfords splitters bent a bit.

Of course it effects trade values.

Apart from exhausts which are silenced for the bureaucrats - dont modify. You cant improve on what Ferrari has already done with a load of fibreglass and a can of Holts spray paint.

You wouldnt put the Mona Lisa or Van Goghs Sunflowers in a Habitat brushed alluminium frame

I know somebody who lost 40k on his Hamann 360 as it was worth LESS than a standard car.

I don't like the Hamann kit on the 360, but on a dark colour it improves the 430 tremendously IMO. Except for that rear spoiler.

I fitted a set of BBS Challenge wheels ( for sale at present anybody- and some flappy carbon fibre paddles) , a Tubi and altered the suspension settings, ride height and the geometry to make it imo a better car to drive , looked good too. When I exchanged it, all with the exception of the tubi were removed. Modified, yes but not to excess .

I quite like the wheels on the silver Spider, but those body kits are simply horrid!

They look like they've been added just for the sake of using up the spare bits left over after making up an Airfix model aircraft!

Everything that SHOULD go on a Ferrari is available to order from the factory, when the car is new!Apart from that leave well alone (except of course for a sports exhaust for everything except a 430)

Internal mods are OK - ie CS software etc.. Brake pads etc... ie improving the some of the weak areas as technology has moved on since 1999.

Body kits are a no no IMHO.

As a rule of thumb i would say that any mods (apart from sports exhausts) will prob make car worth less than a modified one - and a sports exhaust will always affect a trade in value with a dealer as they like any excuse to screw you over.....apparently. There are the rare occasions (as I was lucky to fiond out) that there are some buyers who want what you have done and are happy to buy the car as it is - however I ahve a feeling that neons, wings adn go faster stripes are not top of that agenda.

I think certain things can actually add money - like brakes for example - i spent a lot on the AP 6 pot kit and it was worth every penny ...- however the power upgrade would not - you open the hood and see a carbon fibre air box and immediately peole think - uh oh - non standard - adn with cars that cost this much everyone wants a standard one - I would if i bought another one I would too !

2 follow on points - I disagree that you cannot improve over what ferrari ahve done at the factory - false....the brakes on the 355 are sh*t...I would say that was the best 3k i ever spent.Likeiwse the stock exhaust sounds sh*t as well - the ITO sorted that out... also the headlights are pants adn you can get the halogen upgrade....IMHO that makes it a better car.....I also think it is a little underpowered and the design of the airbopxes right above the red hot exhaust is a little daft - so a titanuium heat shield adn the gruppe M ram system with sports filteres makes a huge difference to the cars perfomance......

But as we all agree these mods cost a lot and you will never get your money back - but hey you will not get back what you paid for it either unless its brand new adn you are number 1 on the delivery list....so decide what you want to do - if hanging tartan dice in it and sticking a wing on it and that makes your ownership more enjoyable then I say go for it - if you spend all that cash then you can do what you want - (to a degree ;-))) Personally I ahted the wheels on the 550 - made it look dated and look small in the arches - the new novitechs might not be to everyones taste but I love them.....and they will come off when i sell it (if i ever sell it !!!)....

I'm not sure about these comments

Personally I don't like the standard 360 wheels, but the Ferrari modular ones are good

I'm just not sure about the Hamann body kit, but the Novitec stuff looks good

I don,t think that the body kits,do any thing for the cars, but defo, an exhaust and a nice set of wheels all day long. any body who has seen mine can only agree.
