misfire > pumping fuel straight through to the cat > cat red hot ... if you've just changed the leads, I'd check them. Why did you change them? Were the old ones fubar? If not, you might try switching them back.

This'll sound silly but those symptoms sound just like a blocked exhaust to me. I had this on my vw and the cat was glowing very red hot after 3 miles and the engine spluttering and struggling to get any revs at all.

Actually, FUBAR should be spelt FUBAHR.

It is an old medical Acronym going back to the days when we didn't all have to be so PC.

It stands for F'd Up Beyond All Hope of Recovery.

A few others that spring to mind are:

PFO - Pissed and Fell Over - for the drunk who couldn't tell you you how he gashed his forehead.
AST - Assuming Seasonal Temperature (ie: dead)
LOFD - Looks Okay From the Door
NFN - Normal for Norfolk
HIBGIA - Had it before, got it again
JPS - Just Plain Stupid
CRAFT - Can't Remember A F'ing Thing
TEETH - Tried Everything Else, Try Homeopathy

FUBAR is quite correct though; "F'd Up Beyond All Recognition"

Actually, actually, actually

my favourite is SNAFU= Situation Normal, All F***ed Up (American Army Slang)

Agree - Fubar is also army slang for F***ed up beyond all recognition

What's a 'plentium'?
