Child protection software
Discussion
Wonder if anyone can recommend some software I can use to protect my 12 year old from 'those kind of sites'. He's too clever by half and has learned how to disable the keylogger I installed and delete history and cookies. I would like some software that will allow to happily surf the net but stop visits to porn sites or specific sites that I have requested out of bounds. He tends to like the chat rooms and forums which we all know are well dodgy especially for kids.
Any suggestions gratefully received. By the way its not a case of him being left to his own devices as he is regurlarly monitored but cannot be watched all the time.

The Parental controls on aol are excellent, provided that he doesn't guess your password that is!
Apart from that 'Cyber Sentinel'is a piece of software that is used by my sons school, that comes highly recommended by the school.Contact Modems Direct on 01932 255480(Walton on Thames,Surrey) www.modemsdirect.co.uk

You could go for a pre filtered approach at www.cleanfeed.co.uk

... not sure about that one:
the test site feature returned:

Sites related to cars and other vehicles.

You could try www.netnanny.com/index.html - I never visit "those" sites anyway so can't personally vouch for it
but I understand it is well recommended.
Cheers,
Phil.

When I teach parents regarding security there are several program available which can monitor/block content/access. Thinking about your 12 year old getting around the historiry etc. I would have thought the best software for you would be Cybersitter as it sits in the background and is hidden.

Hope that helps.
