NE1 know if the Vemac based on the Ultima Chassis?

I was just watching the Japanese GT300 racing on speed channel and noticed the Vemac chassis looks surprisingly familiar to the Ultima/Stealth/Ascari/Noble chassis.

Does anyone know for sure?
