A friend (who knows more than PCs about me) mentioned some software called Sandra - apparently you can download a limited version and it will analyse your computer and tell you which bits need upgrading/are the slowest etc. Is this true and if so where I can I get it from?

Recently upgraded an old old version to the new one and it stopped working (XP) - something about the local server not running. Pah, progress indeed!

Hmm - it's an exe file and the small print says 'if it breaks your PC don't come running to us...'

Not so sure now - anyone actually used it?

Standard Disclaimer I'd expect..

Used it yonks ago, it was pseudo useful... I cant see it being offensive to your system given it's industry standing tbh.

I ran it on my current machine, OK to compare stats with mates but tbh not that useful unless you want to benchmark everything. The guys at work have run them on a few of the servers with no problems
