Cerbera racing / trackdaying

I have been thinking of making a cerbera in some trackday racecar. I mean by that just stripping the whole inside of the car to make it lighter from it's leather and carpets doing a bit of fiddling with the engine, exhaust and suspension. And last but not least fitting a good solid rollcage for some protection on track.

Has anyone thought of fitting a rollcage by the way?

What do you think would that make sense?

They all have cages, minus the cross bar. I don't think you will gain much by taking the interior out if your only doing trackdays. If your planning on racing it then thats another ballgame.

Speak to Andy at APM - he has done this for a customer. Fanastic machine - fire breating, side exit exhausts, aero kit, racing tuscan engine bits, stripped interior, stack dash, carbon fibre interior bits, black n mean.

I had a really good look at that when I picked mine up a few weeks ago, really like some of the ideas, particularly the pipes, routed round the front of block, ala Tuscan racer, then out the sills on one side, should help cooling considerably, keep heat away from the gearbox.

Didn't post about it in here as didn't know if Andy would mind, but what a car, cant wait to see it when its finished, is the owner anyone on here?

I've seen the car while down there too - tres cool. In fact the old exhaust system from it (4.5 sports pipes) is on my car now.

Ho - the owner is a photographer by trade and so I guess he will probably reveal all when the car is finished.
