Dashboard refit

Just spent the morning removing the dash panel, the final piece of trim so I can re-veneer the lot. Its one of those jobs I've been putting off forever.....Had a thought whilst I was there (thinking about refitting) The fuse box cover has a couple of threaded studs sticking out the back which locate into two plastic inserty-thingies. Seems like an idea to do the same with the dash panel? Sure its been thought of / done before. Can anyone see a problem with the theory? Got a few weeks before the cuts on my hands heal enough to let me move my fingers again
