Yes.

Yes & yes.

totalkitcar.com

Yes, but not for the price of a Mini or a Renault Clio, and building/maintaining a GT40 replica is not for the inexperienced.

You're welcome!

there are too many kit-cars to simply say "yes", for example, a GTD40 with a monster V8 won't be much cop as a everyday car, but then the GTM Libra is a superb in that respect...

The market is huge with virtualy every taste catered for and the reliability of the machines comes down to the original builder / kit usually - the donor parts are usually reliable...

Depends

Yes
You're welcome.

And if that's not really what you're hoping for, get yourself along to Donington in a month or two's time for the kit show and mooch around for the weekend.

Get yourself along to Totalkitcar Live and experience the cars yourself - plenty to see and ride in. For someone in your position it's the perfect event.

I racked up over 27,000 miles round the M25 in all weathers in my AM Sportscars EX2 before I a) replaced it with a motorbike cos of the traffic b) started generally buggering around with it for track days.

Mine only broke down twice, both due to acts of idiocy by me (knackered CV joint I knew about and installing the ECU right above the exhaust manifold).

So yes, if you fit a sensible engine into a sensible car then you can use them as a normal car, but have a bucket load more fun.
