Tivs and beer...
Discussion
Seen lots of demographic type questions on here, and this is another one....
So how many of us Tiv owners are actually beer anoraks too? And I mean that sad old institution of Real Ale (CAMRA and the like), not just pi55heads (different to Psiton Heads I feel....)
I'm off to the GBBF in a moment (car less I hasten to add). I know there's at least one other (will have a beer with him there).
What about...... TVR trip to various breweries? Preferably with an overnight stay in a B&B afterwards....

Not that I actually drink beer
but how about Masham in North Yorkshire? Black Sheep and Theakston Breweries to visit. Nice Market square and the Kings Head Hotel to stay in overnight may be a thought...
Masham is surrounded by some beautiful driving roads and splendid countryside.

Am well into my real ales - done a few trips to the Harveys brewery in Lewes, and regularly go to some of the many local Sussex Real Ale Festivals - even been a card carrying CAMRA member

So yup, count me in for any beer related TVR trips
ps - do ya reckon more Tamora owners are into real ale than those lager drinking T350 nancy boys?

Now that's a good idea. And if I remember correctly there are more than a few micro-breweries in the area too.

Now then...what we need is an organiser.

Interesting, sadly my dirnking days are over after major surgery 8 years ago, but even though I am affectively on the wagon, I am happy to consider helping organise something if we are serious. Let me do some investigation this week whilst I am in SF and bored at night.
Well volunteered Simon! I'm happy to get involved with organising, and I DO drink beer.... I'm definitely up for a trip like this. For me, it would probably have to be next year; early spring maybe to get some good driving weather?
Maybe we should post this on the General TVR forum and TVRCC local forums to gauge the scope of the interest.
PS That must have been a hell of an operation, mate.
Sad beer drinking anorak here.
GBBF visitor definately, loved it last yr and discovered Robinsons Old Tom...oh yes!
Now to bring it back to driving, a few of you have mentioned Lewes. Cracking old town and some of you may remember a few of my posts that mention my "control" road which I use to test drive various sportscars. Well, it just happens to be the Lewes to Newhaven backroad, *not* the coastroad via the tunnel. Anyway, highly recommend it and highly recommend the Harveys shop.

Ditto!
CAMRA member for the past ten years although the membership's more in the way of a donation rather then being an active member.
I'll never order a pint of smoothflow/creamflow as it's mass-marketed shite! Not normally a problem in the Midlands as there are some great independent breweries around at the moment.
Brewery trip is a great idea depending on date, location, etc.

Living about 200 yards from a small real ale brewery, I am of course a real ale drinker. fwiw I buy 1 mini barrel of their monthly special (it changes every month) every 3-4 weeks (25pts for about 27 notes). Rebellion Beer in Marlow. Member of their club with monthly drink-ins at the brewery !
