A quick 'heads up' to all NW PHers who might find themselves with an accidentally weighty right hoof whilst circling Madchestoh - reports are coming in that the hitherto deactivated instruments of Satan (above) are now most unpleasantly active so for the mile or two either side of the Ashton turn off, ensure you drive in the manner of a eunuchated socialist.

Top Oh! Der.....Thanks for the Heads up old chap..

Rarely use the southern route m'self, though I do use the northern hemisphere of this hellhole avoidance slab to make progress to my socialist peoples yacht which I have parked at Hull to ferry me and the white witch to the continemt for jollies.....

TA! Once again...

Yep, and the speed limit warnings are woefully inadequate. You're on top of the roadworks before you even realise its 40mph.

gotcher senhor d'restrictor

I usually go south from the M61 down to jct1 so not able to keep track of where the bastards put them. rather unsporting I think...

btw, have you tried the M62 eastbound to leeds? just about jct 25 IIRC there is a huge sloping straight approx 1.5 miles long...V-Maxed the Lotus down there saturday evening managed to achieve 1.31 leptons with the windows up and hard top on! ...it does help if you crest the ridge already at maximum speed though ...all in all a thoroughly refreshing and cathartic run! did preston to central leeds in 47 minutes
