Hi people,

well, after a month of commuting (50 mile round trip), aching wrists, knees etc commuting on the CBR600RR, I have to admit that perhaps the VFR 800 might have been the bike for me!!! I think I kinda got seduced into buying it by the brother-in-law, who's a Blade fan.

I'm a bit on the lardy side, so I'm gonna lose some weight (like 3 stone!), and see if that helps.

If not, she's gonna have to go, I'll get murdered on a trade-in, but what price happiness? Perhaps I'll keep her for Sunday best and buy an older VFR for commuting.

I've heard varying reports on the new VFR. What's the opinion here?

cheers

Ju

why not keep your bike and get a CB500 or the like for commuting on, they cost hardly anything to buy, insure and maintain, sure its not as good as a VFR but then youve got your bike as a weekend toy still.

Yeah,

not a bad idea. What sort of money are we talking. I like to keep a car on hand for those really cold icy, wet, shitty days...

I commute on a blade and it's superb but 5 years on and it looks like shit. I don't think I'll ever sell it mainly because I still love it but it's also worth bugger all.

I'd keep the 600 to play on but I'd buy one of these to commute on...

They are such bargains imo. I had one for a year and it was so comfortable and simply ate the miles at very high speeds. I did Nebury to Lancaster on it for a weekend and it was effortless.

Sometimes they need ridden a bit faster to keep the windblast propping you up and to keep you moving around on the bike ,reducing aches...well thats my excuse...
