Hardest part will be getting the old rusted bolts undone. Other than that no, the packing is just rubber pieces in various thicknesses to achieve the required height. A jack and a largeish plank of wood to lift the bodyshell local to the area you are doing should do the job, don't forget to release the adjacent bolts to help with clearance.

Mick is spot on with his description of what to do... However, just keep an eye on the door gaps! I put some rubber packing in the mounting point in the area of the front suspension turret. Either they forgot to put anything in here when my car was "built" OR it has rotted away over time. I've seen some cars with bolts here, mine doesn't.
Having spent an hour or so freeing off nuts and jacking up the front end, I then had to spend another couple of hours adjusting the doors so they would close properly and cleanly.
That said once the job was done, the transformation in the ride was noticable, the front end now seems much more connected with the chassis with much less banging and clattering on less than perfect roads. I would suggest that any owner check the condition of the packing next time the bonnet is open.
