Hi, new to this forum..

I have just put a deposit down on a '90 red C4, lovely condition etc etc...
I have a question on mirrors though. On the car i'm getting and a previous viewed car i looked at, they both had large square(ish) mirrors..i.e not in an aerodynamic pod??
Having a quick look at other C4's...they all seem to have the mirrors in aero shaped pods.
Any reason for this...??

cheers all..
Coming from a TVR 400SE to the world of Vette's, can't wait.

(See the black Vette from RudeWerc's (3rd down) for eg of these mirrors).

Thanks. The bumper on mine looks the same as all the others, designed to only take a square..ish plate.
Agree, the type approved mirrors look . The car was previously sold by 'Claremont' do you think I could obtain the originals again from them..or somewhere else??

Cheers, sorry for so many questions...new to all this.

Hi Wayne, I did exactly the same a few months ago now. Initially I thought I,d made a big mistake as the handling is so different to the wedge, but once you get used to it theres no going back. One thing you will miss is the noise !! This was easily resolved though by removing the two rear boxes, much better now !!

Thanks for the welcome guys..

Hi Ian, i looked at your Vette at the BBWF..very nice. You could even say your car influenced my decision a little.
You're right, a little exhaust tinkering may be called for, though it does have a deep grumble all it's own.

One thing though, i went for the auto due to back problems. and when i test drove the car...i nearly put it through a fence and bush when i put it in reverse. Think I need to get used to the instant grunt......especially in reverse.

Waynester - sounds like your idle speed may be a touch high - should be circa 900rpm with the trans in neutral and 700rpm when in 'drive' or 'reverse.'

But don't shift into a gear without your foot firmly on the brake pedal - these can launch with the autos! (sorry - know that's obvious...)
