What an absolutely superb day at Prescott hillclimb for the Vintage and Sportscar Club meeting I had yesterday.

Such an eclectic mix of cars, great weather and a wonderful atmosphere that the only event that comes close in my opinion is the Goodwood Revival. For those unaware of the cars that compete, well, it ranges from Edwardian GP cars through hillclimb specials to GP Bugatti's and Alfa Romeo's. These are all cars that have to be really driven with skill and vigour and the noise (and smells - Castrol R) from all these cars stays with me until next years event!

The atmosphere is just so relaxed, in fact it is so relaxed that there is no paddock to speak of just a field carmmed packed with a wonderful array of machinery, some of which are worth seven figures!

Unfortunatley I didn't get any pictures but I will see if I can find any pictures of the typical cars to be found at this event to aid this post!

I so love these oldies:

Damn me I' not a Brit. Those events would've kept me a bachelor though

I absolutely adore the VSCC stuff, all time favourite has to be the ERA's although a relatively of ours raced an Invicta and a Bugatti before the war so have a bit of a soft spot for those too.

I really fancy the idea of buying an Austin 7 Ulster rep and entering these sort of events, had a look at these the other day - www.prewarcar.com/searchresults.asp?make=Austin but not exactly the most practical weekend car in the world though!

Only difference is that the Ulster is £10k not £70k like the Nash!

VSCC Prescott is always a great meeting.

Unfortunately, I had to leave early - How did Mac Hulbert do in his second run in R4D?

I thought he ran a bit wide at Orchard, James Baxter got FTD in the Single Seat Frazer-Nash.

There's some pictures from yesterday here.

I think he finished with a 41.5 and ftd was 41.1, I think?

Yes discraceful, the Welsh was very (too) dry last year.

My brother, on the same hill, I think.

This year's Herefordshire was nice and wet, and there were some photo's of the water splash on the VSCC forum, mud everywhere.
