Just been doing the chasis mainly the outer rails, looked abit tatty when started but most of the paint came off after abit of effort, going to red oxide and hammerite in white.

A while back on restoring an MG we had the wheel arches and underside done with a stone chip but it was coloured to the car a yellow, it was also suitiable for painting over as well, has anybody come across this as it would be good to coat the out riggers with this then you can see the damaged more easily than the black stuff which hides it until major rust has eaten in under.

Halfords sell aerosols of stone guard (made by Hammerite). Comes in white, grey and black. I used grey. Goes on a treat and does what it should. It's overpaintable.

I have used this also on the outriggers and wishbones. Works well, my chassis is white so I didn't bother over-painting.
