Counting Porsche's in East London
Discussion
Driving home from work this evening, counted fifteen 911's between Wapping and Limehouse Link. Not much more than a mile. Most of them were 997's too and half were cabs. What's the world coming to when 911's outnumber fiesta's?
Then a couple of miles later on the north circular a bloody GT3 appears in front of me. Black Mk II. Made a few discreet efforts to nod to the driver, exchange smug glances etc...before getting bored and zipping off up the road. Anyone we know? If so hello from the impatient bloke in the Silver car.

I was commuting from the Wharf last night and seen 3-4 on the road
There was a black c4s on a o4 plate and a LHD turbo on a 02 plate side by side in front of me.
The sound of the c4s is impressive compared to the TT.
and
GT 3/ RS drivers dont say hello on the road because they are superior drivers or some other reason, make your own mind up.

That'll be the Canary Wharf crowd going home - used to be one of them. Ever fancy a free car show check out the multi story car park behind cabot square where a lot of bankers park. I used to have a reserved spot with three other 997s next to me..!! More Porsches, Ferraris, etc than your average showroom.

That's a bit harsh
I always try to nod at least but there are so many 911's around (never mind Boxsters and Cayennes) that it's a full time job keeping an eye out for them

It's more than a bit harsh, we're a nice bunch, it's the rest.
Just to prove it I'll
to any other Porsche on my way home tonite. I'll be on the A4 then M4 from Hammersmith around 6:30ish. However this might get me in trouble since there are always so many I'll be driving with no hands on the wheel

there is a street in knightsbridge, a quiet back road, where there are at least 12 911's , they outnumber any other car on the street. on berkeley square i have seen 3 996 turbo's parked side by side on numerous occasions. porsches are reliable and good aftersales service thats why you see a lot in affluent areas
Is this a record?
I live down Chiswick way and use Abinger Road as a shortcut. Well known street in the Bedford Park area with lots of sports/tv personalities.
There are always loads of Porsches on the street but this morning happened to see a 928, 986, 987, 993, 996 and a Cayenne Turbo parked on the same street and I was in my 997!! Like a showroom..!!
