Anyone else having problems with AOL

My folks seem to be having internet problems at their home. They had internet connection yesterday morning, but by afternoon they had nothing. I took their router to my home and tested it and this worked fine. Is there a way to see if the ISP is playing up?
BT have also checked the line and they say that this is fine and are blaming the ISP.

the better half aosmell connection is constantly dropping out, we did ask for a pac at which point we got a free wireless router and the price dropped to 9.99. kinda pointless though as its still crap

it's been ok otherwise, it's just from yesterday it hasn't been working and i can't figure out if it's BT or AOL.
The phone line is working as speach works. Need some ideas so that i can try it out when i go over there later today.
