Well I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later...
Engine dies on me and won't restart - just as I am putting her away to bed (and blocking my main car in
). Mind you could have been worse and been stuck in the middle of nowhere ..
2 calls to AA later, a lot of head scratching, and a very early morning wake up, it turns out to be a loose "low battery" warning light!! Apparently, the loose connection was breaking the alternator circuit which meant that the alternator was not charging the battery even though it was working properly itself.
Morale of the story - always check the warning lights are working as you turn the ignition on
