ZR1 Clutch - any recommendations
Discussion
All,
The stock (LUK) clutch on the car was replaced about 15,000 miles ago. In high gears and low revs, flooring it makes the clutch slip and the engine race...
I'm not sure if the added hp/torque of the minor mods are causing the clutch to slip or it's just getting that way anyway...
I don't plan in modding C4KOH's power any further (brakes maybe next)... is a stock/LUK replacement OK, or should I plump for a beefier clutch?
Any recommendations and places to get them?
Cheers.
Edited to add: it's a 91, with headers, Corsa exhaust + Marc Haibeck custom cal. Need to dyno it, but wouldn't expect the hp+torque to be more than 50 over standard...

15k is way too soon for another clutch. The norm is 40-50k on a Z. Is the slave ok??? they are known to be unreliable maybe its not fully releasing the clutch when it should be. Those mods are not enough to need an uprated clutch
If you just want to replace the disc, I have one with around 10k on it.

Hi Brett,
Thanks. Didn't think the mods would require a new clutch
... wishful thinking probably!!
For the clutch slave not releasing enough - I guess this is what could give a slipping effect as the plates wouldn't be engaged fully??
Will have a look. If as you say 15K miles is way too soon, then this is the way to go.
