Attention Mr Gazman.

Derek,
Had some nickel plated Gaz shocks fitted about a year ago and never felt right, back end was too wallowy if you know what I mean.
Even going down a reasonably smooth road the car would bounce up and down like a big fluffy sofa, not nice...
Have been told that back should be on 25 clicks and front on 15 for fast road.
Had a go at adjusting a week ago but adjusting knob keeps turning as in no stop point to start adjustment from.
Have now gone opposite to what it was and is so bloody hard every bump rattles my teeth out and breaks a rib...
Am I being a complete numpty and missing something here.
Thanks.

Garry, tel "the Gazman" 0n 01707 334819 I am sure he will sort you out. I fitted Gaz shocks and springs to my 500 three months ago. I have backed the front and rear off three clicks from the starting point that you have. IMHO it has transformed the car
and has made it much more driveable on the back roads. I have also fitted Steve Heath drop links which I would also recommend.

If you are not willing to have a little twiddle with the adjuster then adjustables can be pretty dangereous for some owners.
Fair enought that a reasonable garage would have got the adjustment to a reasonable driveable level but you must change things slowly - say 2 clicks at a time - on both sides.
I spray with with something like WD40 every month - this keeps the rust at bay and helps to keep the adjuster working (can you tell I have AVO's..)
Hope you get it sorted.

Sorry for delay its been a busy day..
Andy thanks for that, Yes it would probably have been quicker to call the Gaz shocks supplier but I thought that this was one of the ideas of Pistonheads.
When you have a problem or query it is presented on an open forum for others to submit their answers etc, then other people with poss similar problem could refer back to it via the search facility.(not meant as a rant so I apologise now)
Vic, many thanks will call them tomorrow.
I have fitted Steve's drop links front and back, the initial prolem was the adjusters were very tight.
We (FIL, very experienced mechanic)wound them back(counting the clicks) but could not ascertain a start point.
When the adjuster knob stopped at what we thought was start point after about 10 secs the adjuster would start turning back again.
This happened over and over so we have only altered the back ones.
Will not touch front until procedure is confirmed.
Alan, yes you are right we should have taken them back a couple of clicks at a time but was'nt prepared for them being so bleeding tight.
Cheers anyway.
Hope this is of some use to someone in the future.
