Up for renewal, been quoted 1300 so far by Elephant which is the best yet. Got 2 years no claims, and it will be used for non-commercial travelling. Any ideas? I'm 33 years old if that helps.....!

I've used Norwich Union for a couple of years with some success but they wanted a fairly derisory sum to cover the 911.

Try confused.com - that came up with about a dozen quotes for me and I'm probably going to go with the RAC on the basis that they quoted half as much as NU (about £800, 28 years old, 6 years NCB, sdp and business class 1).

Another PH member recomended Asset Trust to me, and after shopping around they were the best.

Find them here:

A Manning are excellent for 911s. I pay £617 per annum for my 964. Daily driver, unlimited mileage, parked in street, inc PCGB trackday cover too.

Tell them you saw their ad in Total 911!

clarkey

just renewed with APLAN down in newbury and they are coming in at £925 for me.

I am 31, car is C2 with GT3 kit on a 98 s with sports exhaust and panel filter and GT3 wheels.

give them a call as they are good with porkers.

also after a year with them my premium went down quite a bit.

I have well over 12 year NCB and they protected it too. no claims for 5 years.
that includes free 60 day cover for europe too!

Thanks guys.

Much appreciated.

Problems are lack of no claims (2 years only) and accidents in 2003 and 2004. Car is also being used as Business Class 1, but fairly happy with quotes.

try tesco, they jsut do accidents by the fact that you have them not this amount of the claim, which in my case is good cos i racked up 40k last time!!!

They were cheaper than elephant who i was with ...

...following recommendations here on PH i just dealt with Asset Trust and found them extremely helpful, direct and reactive. they got me a very good deal on a slightly unusual situation...highly recommended!

Admiral through confused.com have done me proud this Monday. Their Multicar quote got the Diesel BM at £300 and 911 at £450. Getting insurance seems to be so random it is worth just plugging away at everyone until you see something you are prepared to pay

Give Privilege a try. Were superb on the Cayman S and quotes were similar for a 996. I'm only paying £516.

Try morethan.com I saved just under £500 from my previous insurer Norwhich Union for my 2005 boxster same policy but with £100 added to my excess, went out and celebrated this should not happen.

What difference does non-standard spec have on quotes in general? Looking at the Admiral and Elephant sites, everything from optional alloys, exhaust mods (I guess this includes PSE) and interior mods (I guess this includes adaptive seats) - no doubt Sports Chrono is a further mod - all seem to inflate premium. 4 years no claims. No accidents etc. Quotes just over £2k apiece. Are you being asked about these sorts of options when getting competitive quotes?

I declared my aero kit when insuring with Elephant and it made no difference at all as it had been factory fitted so assume that would apply to most, if not all of the options you mention above.

A-plan and Adrian Flux have been the best for me by a considerable margin - just over £1,100 for my £75k 911 (997) C4S, with 5 years NCB (protected), £500 xs. I'm 33 with no convictions in the last 5 years and 1 fault accident in June 2004 (£2000)
