Can I ask what photo editing software people generally use to blank out their number plate details (for security's sake) before posting images in their profiles etc?

...and is any such software readily available/downloadable for free?

Thanks in advance!

I just use coloured Tippex, which can easily be scraped off of the screen afterwards.

Yep carry on chaps, there must be many more comedy replies still to come. Fill your boots....

Paint eh? How quaint.

Think that's meant to be MS PaintBrush, standard with Windows. Type Pbrush in the Start>>Run window or find, should be good enough, these days it also allows you to save to different formats.

Yeah, I think it is called 'Paint', which is a Windows standard image editing software.

Anyway, I don't think there's a software specifically for this purpose but you can use any image editing software. I used to just blank it out but have been trying different things recently. Less boring, don't you think??

By far the best way of doing it is taking ages to remove a couple of digits from the plate in photoshop, so it reads something like, lets say "1ONA", carefully aligning everything so no one would ever guess. Then simply forget to do it on one of the shots and upload that one onto the internet for millions of people to look at.

This is my workflow.

Maybe I'm incredibly naive but why? Your vehicle is visible to all when you drive it, what's the difference on the internet?

I was informed that there was a thread about this that occurred sometime this spring...

But I share your view, at any rate.
