Buying property in Romania

Anybody had any experience of buying property in Romania? I'm considering property in the Carpathian mountains rather than Bucharest. Would be interested in other people's experiences - good and bad!

I am not currently recommending the area to clients - the land registry system is antiquated leaves a lot to be desired and in several instances land can be grabbed back by the original family owners years down the road for a nominal fee. Safer areas I would recommend are Poland and Estonia if you are looking at Eastern Europe.

Growth is comparable and risk is seriously reduced.
