I have the aerokit for my 996 as was wondering if it would cause any probs if I remove the 2 inch plastic spoiler lip at front. This thing scrapes whenever I go over a road with a slight bend . It doesn't seem to do anything other than protect the spoiler but without it I wouldn't have a problem I reckon.
any thoughts?
cheers

I nearly took it off again last night, kerbs just knock it off if you get too close. So there are no problems if I do this? It wont make the car less aero dynamic will it ?

if you dont remove it, discarded lint will do it for you.
at least this way you get to stub your toe on it in the garage every time you go in there.

Jamie, you haven't been on this board more than 5 minutes and they've already rumbled you and realised you're an uber-chav!
(Lest anyone think this is gratuitous personal abuse, I know Jamie from the S2000 owners club forum - where he was renowned for having the mankiest heaviest 18" chav alloys

)DO NOT REMOVE IT, it'll turn your car into an understeering pile of poo at anything over 5mph.
Porsche AG don't fit bits of plastic to the front of their cars for the fun of it yunno.
I think this question has been asked before on the PCGB Forum. Apparently removal of the offending article will give a noticeable increase in understeer going around the Blancmange counter at your local Spar shop. At least that's what I think was said

Marc,
I am not adding mods I am removing them , making my car anti chavtastic
I still have no idea if I can remove it though as I can't decide if anyone on here is winding me up or not.

Can a little rubber piece of trim really make that much of a handling difference upto speeds of 70 mph?
Don't discount the weight redistribution effect either... making a 911 even more tail heavy - are you insane?!?
Agree totally, surely this will require the car to be corner weighted and the geometry to be reset ?
In fact Porsche maintainance bulletins now suggest you have the corner weights checked on all 996 models on a weekly basis
to compensate for oil loss from leaking RMS's. (Obviously this doesn't apply to GT3s Turbos or GT2s slippydiff said:

You'd be better off putting your rear seats down

hi if its anything like the one i had on the cerbera it is used for high speed stability like the man said b4 porsche dont just put bits of plastic on for fun it is there for a purpose.
On the cerbera they were none to become very front light at speed without this on its all to do with undercar aero dynamics.
