Advice needed re: buying a Chimaera.

I'm soon going to buy a 1998 S Reg Chimaera 400. To get more for my money I'm looking to buy from a private seller - I'm looking to spend around 12K.

Does anyone know of a Chimaera expert in the Oxford area who I could take with me to check the car out before I commit to buying? Of course I'd be happy to pay the going rate for their time.
