Using a phone's bluetooth.........

receiver as a bluetooth port on a laptop. Is it possible? I have a Motorola L2 phone with bluetooth receiver. I want to try and connect my BT GPS receiver via the phones BT receiver but when I 'search for devices' on the phone, it fails to pick it up, yet I know the BT GPS is fine as I've picked it up on an O2 XDA Mini S. Any suggestions as to how I can do it?
Of course, the alternative is to be patient and wait for the BT USB dongle that I have on order......
