No Oil

Have to change the oil pipe from external filter to engine as it is weeping.Took off the oil filter expecting oil to come out and it was empty. Took off said pipe and again no oil came out at all. Is it normal for the oil to drain back into sump leaving filter empty.Only used car 2 days ago. On starting it does take a few seconds for oil light to go out, I can see why now.

when i removed the pipes from mine none came out, but never get any problems

Must be normal then - just a bit worried thats all. Thanks for that.

Depends - what filter are you running? The FRAM ones tend to keep a decent charge of oil.

Fram 2821a .. keeps it's Oil OK.

You can tell by tapping it with a finger nail.. if it sounds solid then it's full of oil..
